This 800 page writing, intended for solitary practitioners, contains the theory and practice of the Buddhist path (with some helpful thoughts and exercises added from other systems functioning like stimulating condiments making the main meal of rice easier for westerners to eat, so-to speak, or like training-wheels to a bike) in 10 fun and easy to follow steps.
In brief, this writing first goes through the theory and practice of the pratimoksha steps; going through the basic theory topic such as the five aggregates, karma and rebirth, the four thoughts that turn the mind towards dharma, the four noble truths, teachings on refuge, the four immesurables, then the bodhisattva steps; bodhicitta, the bodhisattva vow and the six paramitas, ultimately the writing prepares the practitioner to start to practice and and complete step ten, Highest Yoga Tantra, the secret swift path to Buddhahood in less than a single lifetime.
(While this writing, The Golden Rainbow, contains details of all preliminary steps and even how to enter step ten for reasons of space the full instructions of how to practice step 10 in detail (which are so volominous that they in a certain way can pretty much be called the second half of the 10 steps of the path) are found in another writing called The Silver Rainbow.)
