This writing, The Will to Live: Part One – Years Zero to Thirty-Three, Ordinary Life and the Twelve Year Retreat, contains my outer autobiography, the details of the happenings of the first 33 years of this life.

In brief my story in this life is that I was born into a pretty well off home that was definitely not poor, but not what could be called wealthy either, so during the period between year zero and twenty-one I lived a quite average good western life with friends and girlfriends. Then at twenty-one I encountered and was seduced by the dharma and circumstances aligned so that I was able to enter a solitary meditation retreat to study all of the so-called great religions and practice the dharma in retreat for twelve years. And at thirty-one inspiration came to start writing books such as this one. So, between year thirty-one and thirty-three I composed ten books and I am with the publishing of these sort of starting my public life.

(If I reach age 60 I plan to write a part two, containing the happenings between year 33 and 60. And similarly another at 90 if that happens.)
